Candidates must have NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by UGC such as SLET/SET conducted by J&K. Candidates with a PhD in the concerned subject awarded as per UGC Regulations, 2009 are exempted from NET/SET/SLET. Candidates with a PhD from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 by QS, THE or ARWU are also eligible and must produce an AIU equivalence certificate. Candidates with PhD and Master’s degree before 19 September 1991 with 50% or more marks are also eligible.
